TEACHING SCHOLAR
2023 Tools for Sustainability Lending Library, Woodbury University. Developing a lending tool library for students and faculty interested in the science of architecture. These tools include a host of sensors and measuring instruments used to measure light (lux, foot candles), environmental conditions (relative humidity, temperature, air speed), envelope performance (thermal imaging), and HVAC performance (air exchange rates).
2022 Climate Chamber, Woodbury University
Built a Climate Chamber for faculty and students to assess the thermal performance of materials and wall assemblies. Climate Chamber bridges abstract concepts of thermal resistance (r-value) with hands-on application using. Climate Chamber is available to all faculty and students and requires little training.
2022 Balance Point, Woodbury University
Built a Balance Point game for faculty and students. This hands-on exercise bridges concepts of thermal mass, energy displacement, energy efficiency, and team collaboration into a time-based competition.
