If you need library materials in a hurry, and we don't own what you need (or our copy isn't available), you can try our excellent local public libraries! They are also your best bet if you want popular literature or movies. You can get a free library card at any public library in California by showing proof of California residency (CA driver's license with current address or other photo ID accompanied by a piece of mail with your name and current address).

The Pasadena Public Library and the Glendale Public Library have a reciprocal relationship. You can search their catalogs together, and use either your Glendale or your Pasadena card at any of either library's locations. Pasadena has 10 library locations throughout the nearby city of Pasadena.

The Glendale Public Library has several locations, including the excellent Brand Library. The Brand Library specializes in art and music-related materials, including a very nice architecture collection. Many times when a popular architecture title is unavailable at the Woodbury Library, you can find it at the Brand Library.

The Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) has 72 branches in addition to its large central library in downtown Los Angeles (located at the corner of Fifth and Flower Streets). Locations are spread out all over Los Angeles - from the West Valley to Eagle Rock to San Pedro, there is bound to be a location near you!

The County of Los Angeles Public Library has 85 locations across the county - located in unincorporated areas and incorporated cities. Some nearby branches include the San Fernando branch and the newly-reopened La Crescenta branch.
