Position: Library Student Assistant

The Library Student Assistant performs customer service and clerical duties necessary for effective library operations in addition to shelving and shelf reading to maintain order in the stacks. LSAs have the potential to assist with special projects and utilize skills related to their majors.

Job duties
• Perform a range of circulation desk duties (e.g. checking materials in and out, inspecting materials, processing holds, etc.)
• Assist patrons with course reserve materials
• Assist patrons in the use of library services, facilities and equipment
• Answer patron questions related to policies and procedures in a professional manner
• Shelve books, periodicals and AV media; shelf read for correct order using the Library of Congress Classification system
• Pick up and mark library materials as used (on computer) and keep library environment neat
• Provide patrons with forms for services such as course reserves, donations, etc.
• Search for missing items
• Fill copy machines with paper and clear paper jams
• Assist with the library's social media postings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Full- or part-time enrollment at Woodbury University
Work-Study award
• Warm, friendly demeanor
• Attention to detail
• Ability to speak, write, and read English fluently
• Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds

Hours: Flexible
Hourly rate: entry level at minimum wage
