Support & Awards: Support & Awards

Friends of the Library

The Woodbury University Friends of the Library (WUFL) is a voluntary, non-profit organization working in cooperation with the Woodbury University Library. Any person, business, or organization may become a Friend by participating in the annual giving program.  The annual giving program provides vital unrestricted support for the Library's current needs.  Donors will be investing in current and future scholars at Woodbury who depend on the library for a rich variety of resources and services.

The purpose of the Woodbury University Friends of the Library is to recruit friends of the library, promote activities that advance the Library's role as the center of an educational enterprise, and to secure financial support for instruction, research, and access to information.

The activities of the Friends include sponsorship of special awards and projects, funding services and materials that are beyond the command of the ordinary library budget, informing the public of the resources and services of the library, and performing other services deemed useful to the Library

Sponsored Awards

The Woodbury University Ray Bradbury Creativity Award is presented to individuals who embody the creative spark and social conscience that characterizes Bradbury’s work.  The award was established in 1987 in collaboration with Ray Bradbury (b. 1920 – d. 2012).  Mr. Bradbury was a strong advocate for literacy and learning, and a great friend to the Woodbury University Library.  The award is administered by the Woodbury University Friends of the Library Advisory Board.  For many years Mr. Bradbury presented the annual Creativity Award himself at Woodbury University, and the tradition continues in his spirit.
