2018 West Coast WMS Users Group Meeting

Hotels

There is a Hampton Inn directly across the street from Woodbury's main entrance. Within walking distance, there is also a Ramada and a Quality Inn. There exist many additional hotel options further south of campus closer to downtown Burbank.

Eating

While there are a few cafes and diners within walking distance of Woodbury, the most walkable area with food and entertainment options is downtown Burbank. Parking garages can be found on E Orange Grove Ave between 1st and 3rd Street.

Dine-around restaurants will include:

Downtown Burbank:

  • Granville Cafe (Modern American)
  • Toro Sushi Poke House (Poke bowls are a Japanese/Hawaiian fusion)
  • Guisados (Mexican)
  • Seoul Korean BBQ

Campus-adjacent:

  • Hill Street Cafe (Traditional American)

Burbank & immediate area

Burbank is a media city at heart, the home of Disney, Warner Brothers, ABC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Insomniac Games (all those companies that visitors thought were in Hollywood!) Right next door is Universal City, home to many more media companies, including its namesake of Universal Studios.

While most of these studios are generally closed to the public, studio tours are offered by Warner Brothers and Universal Studios (the Warner Brothers one being more focused on history and production, and the Universal tour more theme-park oriented).

More details about Burbank tourism can be found here. Other nearby points of interest include the Brand Library (just across the Glendale city line), downtown Burbank, the North Hollywood Arts District, downtown Glendale, and old town Montrose. And of course, there is plenty more to explore in the wider San Fernando, San Gabriel, and La Crescenta valleys, and Los Angeles proper.
