How to use the library catalog (2015 version): Getting started

The library catalog, which you can search using the big search box on the library homepage, will help you find library books, ebooks, articles, DVDs, and more.

Items available online (like an online article) will have a link labeled 'View ebook' or 'View full text.'

If you find a physical item (like a print book) then it will have a location and call number that tells you where it is located in the library.

Below you will find more information on using the catalog. You can also ask a librarian for help.

Try it out!

Placing a hold

If the item you would like from the library is already checked out, you can place a hold on the item.

  1. when viewing an item, click the “Place Hold” button that is on the right of the screen
  2. log in with your regular Woodbury account (the same one you use to log in to any computer on campus or to the wireless network)
  3. select the pick-up location by changing the “location” dropdown menu to your location
  4. if desired, set a hold schedule by clicking on the plus sign next to the words "set hold schedule"
  5. you will be notified when the item arrives at the library
