Offcampus Database Access

Section Index:
Content Body:

Off-campus access to library research databases is limited to currently enrolled students, staff, and faculty.

When attempting to access one of our databases (e.g., ProQuest) from off-campus, you will be prompted to log in.  You will need to refer to your Woodbury ID card for this.  The image below shows you where to find the information you will need to log in.  In the first box, you will enter your last name as it appears on your ID.  In the second box, please enter the last 5 digits of your barcode number.

Having problems logging in?  Getting error messages?

If you receive a message that says "Please try again!  Your username or password was incorrect," this is probably due to the fact that your record has not yet been updated in our system.  You may either call 818-252-5201 or stop by the library reference desk for assistance.

If you get an error screen saying the file could not be found or words to that effect, you are probably behind a firewall.  This is usually the case if you are trying to access library databases from your workplace or are using a computer supplied by your employer.  Our proxy server is not compatible with firewalls.  Try accessing the databases again from your home or personal computer, and you should have no problems.

If you are using Firefox or Safari and see a certificate error or a message saying "This connection could not be trusted," you may want to try using Internet Explorer as a browser.  If this is not a possibility, you can add an exception or merely click on "proceed to this site anyway."  There is no risk to your computer.  The company that provides our website security certificate failed to submit some required information to Firefox, and this problem is in the process of being fixed.

If you still have questions or problems, you can either contact a librarian, or email Jenny Rosenfeld, the systems librarian, directly.
