Bluefire Reader app

Downloading ebooks protected with Adobe DRM (such as EBook Central and EBSCOHost ebooks) directly to Android devices using the Bluefire Reader app

Introduction

If you are using an Android device using a web-browser you can download an EBL or Ebooks on EBSCOHost ebook in PDF or ePub format protected with Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) to the Android device using the Bluefire Reader app.

Simply install the Bluefire Reader app on your Android device. The first time you download an ebook to the Bluefire Reader app you will be prompted to authorize the app with your Adobe ID (you only need to do this once). Then, if you wish to download any Adobe DRM protected ebook direct to your Android device, look for a Download (or similar) button for the ebook in your web-browser and click on it. The ebook should then download to the Bluefire Reader app.

As given here (see the question 'What is the maximum number of computers and devices that I can authorize?' you are able to download or transfer the same ebook to up to 6 computers and devices.

EBook Central

Using an Android device navigate to the EBook Central ebook using your web-browser. When you are reading the ebook online in the EBook Central Online Reader click the small download icon up top. The ebook will then be automatically downloaded to the Bluefire Reader app. You will then be able to read the downloaded ebook on the Android device for the length of the checkout period you selected.

Ebooks on EBSCOHost

Using an Android device navigate to the Ebooks on EBSCOHost ebook using your web-browser. Download an ebook title from Ebooks on EBSCOhost by clicking Download (Offline) on the search result page or from within the detailed record. If you are not logged into your My EBSCOhost folder you will be prompted to do so.

Select your preferred checkout period and click Checkout & Download. The ebook will be added to the Checkouts area of the folder. The Ebooks on EBSCOHost ebook will then be automatically downloaded to the Bluefire Reader app. You will then be able to read the downloaded ebook on the Android device for however long the download period was which you selected.
